Donation Description: 

"If you would not buy it in that condition please do not donate it to Glad Rags"

We greatly appreciate the generous outpour of donations from the community. Your donations are what make it possible for us to give financial help to many local charitable groups.
However, we can only sell items that are in good to great working condition and must pay to dispose of those that are not.
PLEASE do not bring items that we cannot sell!

Items We “GLAD"LY Accept Include:

  • Clothing:  men's, women's, children's in good, clean, wearable condition.  Any season. Cannot be stained, ripped, or have missing/broken zippers.

  • Lingerie & Sportswear:  pajamas, nightgowns, camisoles, activewear tops and bottoms

  • Accessories:  hats, gloves/mittens, belts, handbags, scarves, new socks, etc.

  • Shoes & Boots:  men's, women's and children's in new or like-new condition

  • Jewelry:  all types, but please make sure watches are in working condition

  • Household Linens: blankets, sheets, comforters, towels, table linens, decorative pillows, scatter rugs and dust ruffles

  • Housewares: glasses (sets of two or more only), mugs, tableware, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, lamps (in working order please), no other appliances, paintings, holiday items and giftware

  • Sporting Goods: only small items such as ice skates and snowshoes.

  • Toys & Plush Animals: clean, in working order with no missing parts

  • Infant & Baby Items: small lightly used items such as bouncy chairs, pack-n-plays

Items We CAN NOT Accept:

X  Items that are missing parts, chipped, stained, broken, damaged or not in usable, working condition


X  Large furniture

Books **, DVDs and VCR tapes *

X  Electric blankets and bed pillows

Skis, roller blades and helmets of any type

X  Computer equipment, telephones, cell phones, TVs, VCRs, DVDs, record players

*If you are willing to separate the used shoes, 'hi-fi' equipement, DVDs, CDs, and office machines from the rest of your donation we suggest you donate them to the Salvation Army store right in the main shopping area in West Lebanon (between Walmart and Weathervane Seafood). They will also take larger household furniture such as sofas and beds.

**Books can be taken to your local library, or to the Salvation Army store.

NEW, we are no longer allowed to store bags between sales so please do not donate bags anymore.


Special Donation Dates

In preparation for their upcoming sales Glad Rags will be holding many collection days throughout the year in Woodstock as well as during the week just before the sale (except Friday).

In an effort to make your donating easier and more convenient Glad Rags will be holding collection hours at the Simmons House, lower level, on Pleasant Street next to the Masonic Hall. 

The hours will be from 10 am to 2 pm on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of many months (see our schedule below) and the 2nd Saturdays of the sale months (April and October). Please bring your clean clothing (men’s, women’s, children’s, and vintage), accessories, NEW shoes & toys, linens, household items, including working lamps.
Please!  They cannot accept books, old toys, used shoes, electronics, tvs, appliances (except lamps) or furniture.





All donations are tax deductible.

Keep this in mind if you or someone you know just had a yard sale or is moving

Our "special" 2017 spring donation dates are specific* Saturdays 
10AM-2PM at the
basement of the
Simmons House in Woodstock, VT.

*  ~ Saturdays - July 8 & 22, from 10 AM - 2 PM ~
Also August 12 & 26, September 9 & 23, and October 14th.

Donations may also be dropped off during the week preceding

the sale at the Masonic Lodge in Woodstock:

From 9am to 5pm, Monday-Wednesday, October 23 - 25, 2017 ~ 

AND 9am-12 pm Thursday, October 26.

Please DO NOT bring donations on Friday the 27th.

Looking to volunteer?  The group is always looking for new members to join the fun. If you have some hours to give during the spring or fall sale weeks please email There’s a lot of hard work involved but a fair amount of fun and community for a minimal time commitment.

The regular time to bring in the donations are 9am through 5pm, Monday through WEDNESDAY, and Thursday morning, of the week before the sale.

Please bring your items INSIDE the building through the back door of the Masonic Lodge - 30 Pleasant Street, Woodstock VT.
PLEASE DO NOT bring items on that Friday or Saturday!
And please do not leave any items on the front or back porch of the Lodge at any time.

If the time is not convenient feel free to email the committee at We will try to arrange a pickup in any area within ten miles of the towns of Woodstock or Barnard.

A Glad Rags committee member will be glad to sign a form that you may fill out for tax purposes. You simply list the items and what they are worth on the form or a separate sheet then bring it into the Lodge with your donations. You will keep the signed statement(s) for you own records.

Also, if anyone would like an email reminder about donating to the sales that can be done. Please email us at and make sure you put "Glad Rags Donor" in the subject line. Your name will be placed on a private list to be notified about a month before each sale.
